The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry was established in the year 2008 with the funding from the Government of Gujarat. It has started functioning from 01-08-2008 (vide Resolution No. JKV-122008-362-K.2 dated 10th June, 2008 of Department of Agriculture and Co-operation, Ministry of Agriculture & Co-operation, Govt. of Gujarat, Gandhinagar).

The college is located at main campus of Junagadh Agricultural University, Near College Agril. Engineering & Technology, Junagadh.

To provide the quality professionals for holistic development and improvement of animal wealth of the country.

Mandate:

  1. Supplement the state demand of veterinary professional.
  2. Improvement in total productivity of livestock to improve the socio-economic status of livestock entrepreneurs.
  3. Research and propagation/ transfer of scientific technologies under field conditions.
  4. Updating knowledge of professionals and sharing with them for veterinary extension education.

Objectives:

  1. To impart the professional training leading to award of graduate and post-graduate degrees in veterinary education.
  2. To develop and transfer the technology for holistic improvement of livestock wealth under the field conditions.
  3. To ameliorate the socio-economic status of livestock owners.
  4. To offer consultancy services for subject matter expertise.
  5. To develop and provide world class diagnostic and advisory services for livestock health improvement.
