Sports activities:

All the basic facilities for the game like cricket, volley ball, basket ball, table tennis, kho-kho, chess, weight lifting and athletics etc are available at the university level which is shared by students of all the faculties. Play ground, indoor stadium are also available for the use of the students.


NSS activity:

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. NSS scheme was launched on Gandhiji's Centenary year in 1969 by Union Education Minister V.K.R.V. Rao. The aim of the scheme was to develop student's personality through community services. National Service Scheme was initiated at College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry in August, 2009 with strength of 50 volunteers. Over the years the strength has been increased to 100 volunteers for regular activities and 50 volunteers for special camp. NSS activities is compulsory prerequisite for two professional years to all the students of College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry. The NSS unit of Veterinary College has received “Best NSS Unit Award” and “Best Programme Officer Award” to Programme Officer Dr. B. B. Javia by the Govt. of Gujarat in the year 2013.  At present Dr. R.J. Raval is serving as Programme Officer since July, 01, 2019. During 2019-20 NSS special camp of 7 days duration with 57 participants has been organized at adopted village Prempara, Tal; Visavadar, Dist.; Junagadh, Gujarat. During the camp, Animal health services, bakery training, khedut shibir, fruit and vegetable processing training, street play, village cleanliness drive, primary school visit and other awareness activities have been carried out by the volunteers. The Volunteers of the NSS unit also distributed deworming tablets, animal husbandry related leaflets, sparrow houses in selected village by door to door campaign. Around one hundred and fifty (150) farmers and 60 women participated in khedut shibir and trained in bakery training, respectively.

In year 2019-20 about twenty two regular activities have been covered including tree plantation, celebrations of Swachhta Pakhwada, Independence Day, Poshan Abhiyaan, Teachers Day, NSS Day, Mahatama Gandhi Jayanti, Constitution Day, Din-vishesh: Netaji birthday, National Voter’s Day, Matrubhasa Din, etc. Two special programmes about “Fit India Movement” on National sports day and “Digital banking awareness programme-Way to digital India” have been successfully completed. Essay writing competition and Quiz competition about Indian Constitution also organized for NSS volunteers. Lectures for NSS volunteers on Importance of Cleanliness in life, Personality development and mental stress free life, Importance of Yoga in life, Impact of fast food and soft drink on public health, Obesity and eating disorders have been organized. Total 12 NSS volunteers (8 boys and 4 girls) of the college actively participated in NSS day celebration at Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar and took part in Essay writing, Debate, Mono acting, Solo song,   Power point presentation, Rangoli, Poster painting competition’s etc.  Our volunteers, Shruti Vanpariya won1st prize in Mono acting, Vishvas Gohil and Brijesh Patel won 1st and 3rd prizes in Essay writing competition, respectively. Jay Joshi won 3rd prize in Solo song during the event.Dr. P. H. Tank, Principal and Dean, Veterinary College motivated NSS volunteers and extended guidance, help and support throughout the year to bring the NSS unit at new height.

Cultural Activity:

Students are participating in different cultural and literary activities like drama, mime, mono acting, folk dance, debate, elocution essay writing etc through year in inter-semester, inter-college, inter-university and National youth festival regularly. 

Anti-Raging cell:

વિવિધશૈક્ષણીક સંસ્થાઓમાં સ્નાતક અને અનુસ્નાતક કક્ષાએ અભ્યાસ કરતા સીનીયર વિધાર્થીઓ દ્વારા જુનિયર વિધાર્થીઓને થતા રેગીંગને અટકાવવા માટે સર્વોચ્ચ અદાલતે આપેલા નિર્દેશ અનુસાર અત્રેની મહાવિધ્યાલયમાં રેગીંગનુ દુષણ અટકાવવાના હેતુસર એન્ટીરેગીંગકમીટીની રચના કરવામાં આવે છે. સદર કમીટીએ નામદાર સર્વોચ્ચ અદાલતના માર્ગદર્શક સિધ્ધાંતો મુજબ આ કામગીરી કરવાની રહેશે.

Gender Champion Club:

It is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Human Resource Development. Gender Champions are responsible leaders who facilitate an enabling environment with in the college where girls are treated with dignity and respect. Gender Champions can be both boys and girls and two Gender Champions are selected every year. Gender Champion Club was inaugurated in the college on 2nd April 2016. Under the leadership of Gender Champions with the guidance of Nodal Teacher, different programmes to promote gender equality are organized every year. Programmes organized by gender champions include Drawing Competition, Speech on ‘Gender equality’,Debate Competition and celebration of ‘International Women’s day’, Mahila Krushi Divas, Expert Talk etc
