v   Library :

 The Library is one of the most important centres of the University, which facilitates the teaching, research and extension programme. Both students and faculty extensively use the facility. The Junagadh Agricultural University has given key prominence to the development of the library facilities at the headquarters as well as the constituent colleges and research stations. Books, periodicals, theses, reports, maps and encyclopedia relevant to the mandate areas of the university have been stocked in the University Library and its constituent centre.

Our library provides services to five constituent colleges, which come under Junagadh Agricultural University, viz., College of Agriculture, Junagadh, College of Agriculture Engineering & Technology, Junagadh, College of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Junagadh, Post Graduate Institute of Agri. Business Management, Junagadh, College of Fisheries, Veraval.

v   Collection:

We have a rich library with double storeyed stack room with capacity of 1.5-lakh books. Our library possesses around 42,000 books. These books are very valuable and are helpful in their studies, research and for preparation of different competitive exams. Our library provides 150 Indian & around 42 Foreign journals and 14,000 back volumes. Library has valuable books, which are helpful to students in different competitive exams. Details of which are furnished in tables below.

Cyberary:

           Since last two years, efforts have been made to keep abreast of information technology and introduce modern systems of library management and service. Cyberary with 100 mbps LAN connectivity facilitates students with online journal/database Databases like CAB, AGRIS, AGRICOLA are obtained as CD-ROM version whereas  INDIAN HARVEST as online databases. This has facilitated a tremendous improvement in the usage of library for referencing purposes es Full time internet facility for students, scanning and CD writing facility is also available for the students in the Cyberary.  The internet access through BSNL and GSWAN and existing Database facilities and other IT enabled students to update their General Knowledge along with latest information in their respective disciplines. This facility is being extensively utilized by both faculty and students on a average of daily 80 to 100 users for about 12 hours per day. This has facilitated a tremendous improvement in the usage of library for referencing purposes especially by the research students and staff.
          There are 30 work stations for the P.G. students for their research work.

v   Mechanism to Access books, Journals, Theses, etc.

 University Library has adopted open access system with card catalogues (Author, subject and Title) and Dewey decimal classification scheme. Theses are also available in soft copies for the access of the users.  Library automation work through library software Libsys is in progress. OPAC SYSTEM is in use for the users for their access of library materials.

University Library is kept open from 8.00 a.m. to 6.10 p.m. on all working days while the Cyberary section of the library remains open from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all working days. Outsiders are permitted to consult the Library.

v   Book Bank:

 There is a Book Bank from which students who are the members of the library can borrow books on rental as deposit per semester, in addition to borrowing facilities from the general collections.

Reading materials which are useful for competitive examinations, are maintained separately in the Library and the students appearing for competitive examinations can refer them in the Library.
