The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology is one of the Constituent colleges of the Junagadh Agricultural University. The Junagadh Agricultural University came into existence after the bifurcation of the Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU) with effect from May 1, 2004. The GAU was established on February 1, 1972 under the Gujarat Agricultural University Act, Act No. 13 of 1969 of the Government of Gujarat.
 
Under the faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology came into existence in March-April, 1984 at Junagadh Campus of Gujarat Agricultural University (Now Junagadh Agricultural University). The college offers B. Tech. (Agri. Engg.) and M. Tech. (Ag. Engg.) from the year 2001 Ph. D. in Soil and Water Engineering for in-service candidates has also been started.

The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology has been accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkatta.
