With this novel vision, College of Agriculture, Khapat (Porbandar) offering a residential four-year degree course, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture, was sanctioned by the Department of Agriculture and Co-Operation, Gujarat State in July 2016. Initially, the intake capacity of the students was 30 which increased to 44 and current intake capacity is 44 for the undergraduate course. Also students from diploma in agriculture are admitted to the third semester for degree (D to D) studies. New courses according to 5th Dean Committee of ICAR have been implemented from the year 2017-18. Aim of college is to cater the upcoming demands of the agrarian economy by generation of a young workforce skilled advanced agricultural technologies. We are offering a good quality education to students with all necessary amenities. A team of enthusiastic teachers in various subjects are consolidating their efforts for imparting quality education to the students. The students counselling is given utmost care to build up the personality and over all development of students. The faculty are guiding the students for their academic improvements and to take up various competitive examinations. In order to encourage the students in both sports and cultural activities, the campus has playgrounds for various games like football, basketball, volleyball, badminton and has dedicated sports complex with gymnasium facilities.
Objectives
  • To impart higher education in agriculture science and technology to create a cadre of agriculture professionals to meet the demand of agriculture sector of the state in Gujarat.
  • To prepare ample human resource to carry out basic and modern applied research in agriculture and allied fields.
  • To cater the need for knowledge workers in our rural society and focus on life time employability rather than lifetime employment.
Vision
  • To maintain the supremacy at National and International level in agriculture education, sustainable and economic production as well as quality and variety of agriculture produce.
