DEPARTMENT OF PLANT PROTECTION :

After the College of Horticulture was established, it was necessary to segregate the horticulture department into different divisions to bolster teaching and research initiatives. As a result, the Department of Plant Protection was established with the main aim of engaging in diverse activities including Teaching, Researchand Extension in Entomology, Pathology and Nematology. The department is guided by the following objectives.

VISION  
To enhance crop productivity through sustainable plant protection techniques.

MISSION  
To achieve an innovative research for crop loss caused by pest and diseases through integrated pest and disease management technologies, which is effective, economical and ecofriendly.

  1. OBJECTIVES  
    To provide under graduate education in plant protection.  
    To strengthen the research laboratory for under graduate students for practical works.  
    To initiate the research in advanced concepts and crop protection of various horticultural crop pests having regional importance.
