Agri-Business is one of the fastest-growing sub-sectors in India, with an estimated business potential exceeding ₹11,43,000 crores. Despite this growth, Indian agriculture continues to face several persistent challenges, including inconsistent productivity, significant post-harvest losses, and a limited share in global trade. In an era marked by globalization and rapid advancements in business environments and management technologies, the Agri-Business sector is undergoing a structural transformation. It is evolving into a more complex, organized, and professionally managed industry.
In today’s highly competitive and rapidly changing world, the effective management of resources, enterprises, organizations, and projects is crucial for survival and growth. These challenges demand highly capable and well-trained managers who can lead with vision, innovation, and professionalism.
In response to these needs, the Government of Gujarat established the Post-Graduate Institute of Agri-Business Management in 2008, under the 11th Five-Year Plan. Located within the campus of Junagadh Agricultural University, PGIABM offers students a unique opportunity to pursue advanced studies in Agri-Business Management, applying core business principles to real-world issues and opportunities in the agricultural sector.
