The Directorate of IT orchestrates a high-performance digital ecosystem that bridges the main campus with 25 sub-centres across the Saurashtra region. Our hybrid network architecture combines optical fiber, wireless links, and structured cabling to provide a seamless LAN, MAN, and WAN environment.

  • Regional Connectivity: Centralized monitoring from the University Data Centre ensures consistent uptime for geographically dispersed locations.
  • Enterprise-Grade Security: The network is fortified with multi-layer protection, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and content filtering to safeguard institutional data.
  • Widespread Accessibility: We maintain 1,100+ wired nodes and 75+ Wi-Fi access points, ensuring high-speed internet in classrooms, labs, libraries, and hostels.

Network Monitoring & Operational Excellence

To ensure 24/7 service availability, the Directorate utilizes advanced Network Management Software (NMS) for real-time performance analysis and proactive fault detection. This ensures potential issues are resolved before they impact users.

  • Fiber-Optic Backbone: Over 6,500 meters of optical fiber cable are laid across the campus, providing high-speed data transmission and low-latency communication.
  • Future-Ready: Our infrastructure is designed for easy scalability, ensuring JAU is ready for emerging technologies and increasing bandwidth demands.
