A. Experiential Learning Programme:

ICAR sponsored Educational Training on PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OF ALTERNATIVE/RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGY with a total budget outlay of Rs. 50.00 lakh started in the year 2006-07. The students are trained for the manufacturing of Solar Cookers and Solar Collectors. The training facilities are created in such a way that the students are acquainted and trained on the operation of workshop machines required for such establishment at the industrial level. The training will overcome the lacuna in the design, development and installation of renewable energy devices during the graduation programme. The students are specifically trained in the following concepts.
1. The emphases are given on the concept of alternate/renewable energy technology, its advantages and disadvantages, commercial uses, operation and maintenance, safety measures, small business entrepreneurship, etc.
2. The students are educated in the design, development, operation and maintenance of renewable energy devices.
3. The cost analysis and project report writing.

The ELP is facilitated with the following components.

  • Production//workshop facility.
  • Well-furnished training hall equipped with audio-visual aids.
  • Working shed for assembly purposes.
  • Store room for raw material and finished product.
  • Testing instruments, equipment and office automation.
