The College of Horticulture is a key institution within Junagadh Agricultural University, positioned at the central campus in the heart of Junagadh, Gujarat State. In 2012, the college obtained approval under the name "Horticulture Wing at Junagadh" to promote its objectives. The academic year 2012-13 marked the start of the B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture degree program, with 50 students beginning their educational journey. Following a significant transformation, the Horticulture wing underwent a major upgrade and was officially recognized as the College of Horticulture. This important decision was made based on the recommendations presented during the 40th Academic Council meeting and later confirmed during the 45th Board of Management meeting, both held on May 1, 2017. The establishment of departments across various fields was approved during the 46th Board of Management meeting on September 8, 2017.

The College of Horticulture is recognized as a foremost institution for higher education in horticulture. Its primary aim is to nurture a new generation of specialists, scientists, business leaders, and proficient graduates and postgraduates who can offer crucial support to farmers, whether through direct aid or indirect methods. The institution's mission encompasses not only the enhancement of farmers' financial and social conditions but also the cultivation of a thorough understanding of horticulture within its student community. At the same time, the college is instrumental in redefining the horticultural sector of the state. Under the direct guidance of Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, this college is responsible for imparting horticultural education, as well as engaging in research and extension services.
