On June 5, 2025, the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering at CAET, Junagadh Agricultural University, hosted a vibrant celebration for World Environment Day!
Under the theme "Ending Plastic Pollution”, students and faculty united to promote sustainable practices. The day featured exciting competitions like Rangoli art, Eco-innovation presentations, and more. Over 120 students joined, with 70 participating enthusiastically in various events including model exhibitions and insightful Eco-talks Over Tea.
The event was inaugurated and presided over by Dr. V. P. Chovatia, Honourable Vice Chancellor of JAU, Junagadh. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries included Dr. A. G. Pansuriya, Director of Research & Dean of PG Studies, Dr. Y. H. Ghelani, Registrar. Their presence inspired all, alongside other distinguished dignitaries and faculty deans from across JAU.
Highlighting the day was a tree plantation drive, where 46 saplings found a new home at Kasturba Girls’ Hostel, CAET. Winners of the competitions were recognized during the valedictory session, receiving certificates for their creativity and commitment to environmental stewardship.
