History:
Polytechnic in agriculture at Dhari was established in the year 2008-09 by Agriculture and co-operation department, Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, under Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh.
At present there is one diploma school at Dhari. The minimum qualification of getting admission is 10th pass. After two year completion of the course the student is awarded diploma in agriculture. But now a days, looking to the present demand in the field of agriculture & allied science. It is highly need to start three years polytechnic in agriculture science instead of two years diploma course in agriculture science. The successful candidates have an opportunity to joined degree course in agriculture.
Training and visit system of extension has been introduced in Gujarat state since April-1978. In this system, village level workers (VLWs) are the link between the scientist and the farmers. The diploma holders in agriculture can serve as VLWs in this system. Hence to provide the sufficient no. of Agril. diploma holder, the Polytechnic in agriculture at dhari was started under the administrative control of Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh

Objective of the Scheme :
  1. To give exposure to the students in the field of agriculture science.
  2. To create awareness to regarding agriculture science & improved technology.
  3. To create new employment facilities in the field of agriculture &  allied science.
Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:

entry candidate for the board of the following standard 10TH
(SSCE) with English subject examination must be passed.
(I)  
Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board OR
(II)
Other accredited to the Board, the Central Board, Council of Indian School of Certificate Examination, in New Delhi, National Institute of Open School, International School, etc. Maharashtra State Board of Education.
i   The candidate must have studied it in school, the school should have been in Gujarat state,
ii  Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli school if the candidate Parent must be a resident of Gujarat origin.
iii  Nizar candidate resident of Gujarat and Maharashtra board exam pass Have.

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates for the seats reserved for:

The two species total of 22% seats will be reserved for the Group. 7% of the seats for scheduled castes candidates and the remaining 15% seats will be reserved for Scheduled Tribes candidates.

Both backward class candidate in any one category, reserved seating, are less than the other categories will be transferred to the reserved seats. Reserved seats for OBC candidates of a social and educational:

Staff of the army / army retired employees of reserved seats for children:
  • Army, army retired employee or the employee's children for 1% of seats are reserved.

NSS ACTIVITIES
From 2010-11 at the center of years of national service scheme is employed. National Service Scheme by the year in which many activities are performed in a three to four one day camps are organized. The cleaning performance, distinguished persons lecture, polio eradication rally, etc., the program is adjusted on Beti Bachao Beti Padhavo
National Service Plan for seven days in a village by the special camp each year is adjusted. Gramasaphai during camps, veterinary camps, farmer meetings, bhintasutra draw, superstitious program on prevention, road repair, etc. The program is adjusted. National Service Scheme by the district-level students to take part in the camp are sent.
Mountaineering Camp is organized by the National Service Scheme. 1 to 10 of each year in which students are sent.
National Service Scheme by the Leadership Development is being held in the special. Ahmedabad, for which a special team has been training students are qualities of leadership are trained for it.
Sports
Here at polytechnic grounds of each game are available. Game of tools are given to students. Like the students themselves are allowed to play in any gameAnd guidance is provided. Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh each year at the sports competitions are held among polytechnic. Including volleyball, kho kho, table tennis, long Jump, race, Shot Put, Discus, etc. are the contest. It will be the first number and certificate students are given an incentive Shield.
