Activities Organized during 2017-18 :
NSS Regular activities :
  • Tree Plantation on the Celebration of World Environment Day :

     Tree Plantation programme was arranged as a part of the celebration of World Environment Day at the premises of Polytechnic in Horticulture, on 5th June, 2017. This programme was presided over by Dr. A. R. Pathak, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, JAU, Junagadh, in the presence of University Officers, Dean and Principals Head of the Departments along with 16 NSS volunteer of this polytechnic and Horticulture Wing, Junagadh. NSS volunteers joined in Tree plantation campaign during this programme and about 85 saplings (50 black plum and 35 custard apple) were planted.  

    Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.R. Pathak and Dr. P.V. Patel, Director, Students' Welfare gave the information about importance of conservation and management of Environment. In this programme, about 90 people were participated.

  • Activity under Swachhata Abhiyan :

    A programme  of Shramyagna under swachh Bharat Mission was organized on 27th May, 2017 by Junagadh Municipal Corporation in association with Hatkesh Trust, Junagadh for cleaning activities carried out at different locations viz; Hatkesh Temple, Hatkesh Hospital, Bhavnath Temple, Railway Station and S.T. bus stand. In this programme Renowned Gazal singer Shri Manhar Udhas, Smt. Adhyashaktiben Majmudar, Mayor, JMC, Junagadh, Shri Girish Kotech, Dy. Mayor, Dr. P.V. Patel, Programme coordinator, NSS, Programme Officer and  14 NSS volunteers from the College of Agril. Engineering & Tech. participated at Hatkesh Temple, Junagadh.

    Another programme for cleaning of road side and premises of Krishigadh was conducted on June, 5th, 2017 as a part of the celebration of World Environment Day after tree Plantation and also under Swachchata Abhiyan under the Chairmanship of Dr. A.R. Pathak, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor in the presence of  Dr. A.M. Parakhiya, Director, Extension Education, Dr. P.V. Patel, Programme Coordinator, NSS, Dr. B.K. Sagarka, Professor & Head, Dept. of Agronomy and Nodal Officer, Mahatma Gandhi Swachchata Abhiyan, Staff and NSS Volunteers.

  • Celebration of Vesh Paridhan Divas :

    Seventy NSS volunteers (46 boys+24 girls)  participated in Vesh Paridhan Programme organized at Polytechnic in Horticulture, JAU, Junagadh on April, 11, 2017.

  • Dental Camp :

     With the inspiration of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.R. Pathak a Dental Diagnosis Camp was arranged by NSS in association with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Junagadh on April,9th, 2017. This camp was inaugurated by Dr. M.M.Modhvadiya, Hon'ble Member, Board of Management, in the presence of Dr. P.V. Patel, Programme Coordinator, NSS and Smt. Jaishriben Vekariya, President, JCI, Junagadh. In this camp Dr. Nikunj M. Bhuva, Dr.(Mrs.) Dharviben Bhuva and Dr. Karan Chaudhari provided their services for diagnosis of 75 Students and staff. Smt. Jaishriben Vekariya, President, JCI, Junagadh felicitated to Dr. P.V. Patel, Programme Coordinator, NSS and all the Doctors by giving Memento for their contribution in making this camp successful.

  • Celebration of International Day of Yoga

     The 3rd International Day of Yoga was inaugurated by Dr. A.R. Pathak, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, JAU, Junagadh on June, 21st, 2017 by lighting the lamp at   7:00 AM in the auspicious presence of Dr. V. P. Chovatiya, Director of Reseach, Dr. P.V. Patel, Nodal Officer International Day of Yoga and Director of Students' Welfare, Dr. A. V. Barad, Principal & Dean, College of Agriculture, JAU, Junagadh. Yoga activities were conducted in Indoor Sports Stadium during 7:00 to 7:55 AM in a befitting manner by all the participants during 7.00-7.55 A.M under the guidance of Yoga expert Dr. V. P. Andani, Retd. Research Scientist (Pathology), JAU, Junagadh. In this programme approximately 1000 (920 Male and 80 Female) participants performed the yoga exercise.

  • Awareness Programme for Road Safety & Safe driving

     A programme for awareness & Road safety was arranged by the Regional Transport Officer, Junagadh Shri J.V. Shah. He explained the topic on Road Safety & Safe driving with the help of Audio Visual presentation regarding prevention of various hazards of Road accident to the students of Polytechnic in Horticulture, College of Veterinary and PG Institute of Agri-Business Management, JAU, Junagadh.

     Similar programmes also arranged at Polytechnic in Agriculture, Dhari, Polyechnic in Agril. Engineering, Targhadiya and College of Agriculture, Junagadh by respective NSS Units.

  • Acupressure, Vibration and Sujok Therapy Camp organized in two phase from July, 10th to July, 16th, 2017 and second camp during 18th to 24th July, as a part of regular activity of N.S.S at University Health Centre. This camp was organized in association with Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Arogya Jeevan Sansthan, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan for the benefit of Students and Staff of Junagadh Agricultural University free of cost.
  • This important camp was inaugurated by Dr. A. R. Pathak, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor on 10th July, 2017 in the presence of Dr. V. P. Chovatiya, Director of Research,  Dr. P. V. Patel, Programme Co-ordinator NSS & Director, Students' Welfare, Dr. N. K. Gontia, Principal & Dean, College of Agril. Engineering & Tech, Smt. Kailashben Pathak, President, JAU Campus Mahila Mandal, Smt. Rekhaben Patel, Vice President, and Smt. Rajeshwariben Gontia of JAU Campus Mahila Mandal of  Dr. Om Prakash and Dr. R.R. Pawar of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Arogya Jeevan Sansthan, Hanumangarh Rajasthan Both these doctors were provided treatments of these therapy very honestly by which 361 staff/ students were benifitted.
  • In order to create awareness and providing guidelines for implementation of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) a seminar  was arranged  at College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology with Students and staff under the Chairmanship of Shri G.V. Maiyyani, Dy. District Electoral Officer, Junagadh for maximum enrolment of students who have completed 18 years of age and updating  electoral roll. Shri G.V. Maiyyani gave useful guidelines during the meeting. In this Programme about 155 students and staff remained Present.
  • Such Programme also arranged on 31st July, 2017 by Polytechnic in Agriculture, JAU, Dhari in which 70 NSS Volunteers were participated.
  • Thirty NSS Volunteers also participated on 24th July, 2017 in an awareness programme at Polytechnic in Agril. Engg. Targhadia (Dist. Rajkot) in which Programme officer and principal of the same Polytechnic for EPIC card.
  • Similarly, a training of 8 Designated Officers and a representative of this office was arranged in the Office of the Dy. Collector and Dy. District Electoral Officer for giving necessary guidelines to increase Voters' awareness this training was arranged    by Dr. P. V. Patel, Nodal Officer(SVEEP) & Director Students' walfare, JAU, Junagadh among students about pre-election process in a befitting manner.
  • As per the instruction of Chief Electoral Officer received through the Regional Director, NSS, Ahmedabad 8 Campus Ambassador were nominated from NSS Volunteers of Colleges and Polytechnics of  Junagadh Agricultural University to perform the activities under SVEEP programme and to provide support to designated officers of respective colleges.
  • On the occasion of  71st Independence Day on 15th August, 2017 a programme oraganized to make grand and memorable celebration of this day by Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. With inspiration and blessings Dr. A. R. Pathak,   Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, we could celebrate this important National festival in a befitting manner in the premises of Indoor Sports Stadium in the presence of large number of University Officers, Staff, Students and invitees. At 8.30 Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Dr. A. R. Pathak, unfurled the National flag followed by National anthem. Tricolor balloons were released in the sky .Hon'ble Vice Chancellor congratulated to all the University staff, students and invitees on the  71st Independence Day, In his speech he appeal to work with spirit of patriotism not only on the day of National festivals but also in their daily life in their respective field to make the nation strong. At this occasion Safai Kamdaars of JAU were felicitated by shawl for their contribution in keeping campus clean and making good contribution in Swachcha Bharat Mission campaign of Government of India. The representative of the Safai kaamdaar offered a bouquet to felicitate Hon'ble Vice Chancellor.
  • A programme of patriotic songs was also performed by Students, Staff and a group of  JAU Campus Mahila mandal.
  • Under the Swachch Bharat Mission campaign a mass level cleaning activities on the roads of the campus was arranged after the flag hoisting ceremony on 15th August, 2017. In this programme University Officers, Teachers, Staff, Students and labors participated in large numbers.
  • Swachchta Pakhwada :
  • Two Swachchta Pakhwada launched by the Govt. of India during 1st to 15th September, 2017 to push peoples' awareness towards Swachcha Bhart Mission in the country. Certain Colleges/Polytechnics Conducted Cleaning activities during 1st to 15th  August, 2017 viz; College of Agriculture, Mota Bhandaria (Dist. Amreli), College of Fisheries, JAU, Veraval. During 11-08-2017 to 13-08-2017 NSS Volunteers visited at Mota Bhandaria (Dist. Amreli) and arranged a rally and meeting. While, NSS Volunteers of the same College arranged cleaning activities in College, Hostel Premises and Laboratory.
  • Swachchta Pakhwada of  1st to 15th September, NSS Volunteers Carried out activities as per action plan and participated in the essay writing and to prepare short video film for spreading the message of  Swachchta in the people, In this activity 30 NSS Volunteers were participated from Polytechnics in Agril. Engg. Targhadia, Polytechnics in Home Science, Amreli, Polytechnic Horticulture and Animal Hasbandary, Junagadh and College of Fisheries, JAU, Verval.          
  • On August,9th, 2017 a special programme on 75th Anniversary of "Quit India Movement" was arranged to create awareness about the freedom fighters of the nation. In this programme large number of NSS volunteers participated.
  • During the training various activities and role play on various topics viz; Quality of Good leaderGoal setting, Capacity building, Self esteem, Self confidence, Time management, Effective communication etc were demonstrated by the experts
  • As a prophylactic measure of Swine flu Ayurvedic extract was distributed to the Students, Staff and labors of the University during, 28th August, to 4th September, 2017. Ayurvedic extract was prepared in messes of hostels as per the guideline received from Ayurvedic Medicinal Plant Res. Station, Anand for students. While, such extract was collected from the Male Panch Karma Department of Ayurvedic Hospital of Ayurvedic College, Junagadh. During the week every day from 10.00 to 11.00 hrs the Ayurvedic extract was distributed regularly at Health centre and about 2250 staff and labors were benefitted. While 1500 students of all faculties at Campus were provided this extract which was prepared by hostels' messes. This extract was also    provided to the staff and labors of various departments and residential quarters.
  • Tree plantation programme was arranged in sagadividi farm on August, 24th, 2017, in this programme Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. A. R. Pathak, Dr. P. V. Patel, Programme Coordinator,NSS, Faculties of Agriculture, Agril. Engg. and NSS Volunteers planted about 400 saplings of Lemon and custurd apple.
  • Another tree plantation programme arranged 31st July, 2017 by Polytechnic in Agril.       Engg., JAU, Targhdia, Polytechnic in Agriculture, JAU, Dhari on 29th July, 2017 and at college of Fisheries, JAU, Veraval on the same date as mentioned in dhari.
  • In other three plantation programme organized on 21st July, 2017 at College of Agriculture, Mota Bhandariya, 63 NSS Volunteers were participated and planted 120 sappling in premises of college and hostel. Simillar type of programme also arranged by Polytechnic in Home Science, Amreli in which 48 NSS girl Volunteers participated.
  • Forty NSS Volunteers of College of Agril. Engg. & Tech. participated in a tree plantation programme at Eklavya Global School, Junagadh on 5th August,2017 and planted 50 sapplings of indigenious tree species viz; Neem, Amaltas (Garmalo), Baheda, Shirish, Borsali, Karanj, Charel, etc. In this programme students of this school also participated. Shri. R. D. Katara Retd. Forest Officer and Shri. Rasik Bhatt Retd. Agril. Scientist shared their thoughts about important of plants 25 NSS Volunteers of College of Fisheries also participated on 26th Sep. in a tree plantation programme. NSS Volunteers also carried out cleaning activity in campus area.
  • The World Lion Day celebration on 10th August, 2017 by College of Agriculture, Junagadh in which 153 NSS Volunteers where participated. NSS Volunteers arranged rarly with slogans for awareness of conservation of Asiatic Lion of Gir Sasan.
  • Dr. A. R. Pathak Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. P. V. Patel Programme Co-ordinator, NSS and Dr. B. K. Sagarka Principal & Dean of the same College motivated to participated for such activity.
  • A rarly organized on 18th August, 2017 as part of the celebration of World Lion Day by NSS Volunteers of College of Fisheries, JAU, Veraval. In this programme Shri. R. L. Jalundhara Asstt. Conservation of Forest delivered his talk on conservation of forest animal in this programme 55 NSS Volunteers were participated.
  • On World Lion Day, 56 NSS Volunteers of Horticulture Wing, JAU, Junagadh took part in rarly with slogan and posters of conservation of Lion and their importance.
  • A blood donation camp was organized by Tata Motors, Junagadh on 23rd July,2017 by Co-opration of College of Agril. Engg. & Tech., JAU, Junagadh. In this 15 NSS Volunteers of this College took part and donated blood Shri. Mahendrabhai Mashru, MLA, Junagadh and Smt. Adhyashaktiben Majmudar- Junagadh Municipal Corporation graced this occasion. Dr. P. V. Patel Programme Co-ordinator appreciated NSS Volunteers for their humaneterrian task and moticatated them.
  • NSS Units of Colleges/ Polytechnic organizes orientation camp of new students for encouraging them to join as NSS Volunteer. During this quarter such programme organized by Polytechnic in Agril. Engg., Targhadiya on 16-08-2017, Polytechnics in Animal Husbandary on 05-08-2017, etc.
  • NSS Units of 3 Polytechnics viz; Polytechnic in Horticulture, JND, Agril. Engg., Targhadiya (Rajkot) and Home Science (Amreli) Celebrated " Teacher's Day " on 5th September, 2017. During this celebration approximantaory 35 NSS Volunteers took part in teaching activities and awareded with lite of Dr. S. Radhakrishan, the Former Hon'ble President of India.
  • Participation by Students :
  • National Integration Camp (NIC) of NSS organized during 12th to 18th September, 2017 at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chand Kheda, Ahmedabad (Gujarat). In this camp 10 (5 boys, 5 girl) student of College of Agriculture Engineering & Tech. were participated. These NSS Volunteers carried out activities viz; cleaning, tree plantation culture, etc. They also traditional folk dance during camp and performed well.
  • The NSS Day celebration had during 22nd to 24th September, 2017 at Krantiguru Shyamji Krushna Verma (K.S.K.V.) University, Bhuj, Kuchh in which 12 NSS Volunteers from Horticulture Wing, JAU, Junagadh were participated. NSS Volunteers participated in various competitions viz; Folk Dance, Debate, Roster Making, Slogan Writing, Photography Exhibition, Power Point Presentation and quiz competition. Among these item NSS Volunteers secured first position in open Garba (traditional folk dance) and won the prize. While, they performed well in power point presentation and quiz competition and got third place and won trophy. Dr. A. R. Pathak, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor and Dr. P. V. Patel, program co-ordinator, congratulated to winner students and motivated them. Our NSS Volunteers secured these positions among 250 participated for this celebration.
  • Two NSS Volunteers from College of Veterinary Science & A. H., JAU, Junagadh participated on 21st August, 2017 Swachchta Competition organized under Swachch Bharat Mission by the Deptt. of Rural Development, Govt. of Gujarat and secured the 3rd position. These Volunteers selected by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Junagadh and also participated on 4th September, 2017 at Gandhinagar and represented our University.
  • Gujarat Quiz-2017 Competition organized by the Department of  Education, Govt. of Gujarat at different level viz; College, University, Zonal & State level in entire state. In this competition 39 students were nominated by various Colleges/ Polytechnic for their participation at University level. Among these 14 student from College of Agriculture, Junagadh, College of Veterinary Science and A.H., Junagadh and College of Fisheries, JAU, Veraval participated at Swaminarayan Gurukul, Dhebarbhai Road,        Rajkot on 28-09-2017 at zonal level. In this competition, Thumar Meet N., F.Y. College of Veterinary secured the first position and won the prize.
  • Ten NSS volunteers (5male and 5 female) from the College of Veterinary Science, JAU, Junagadh participated in the National Integration Camp during 24th to 30th March, 2018 at Hampankatta, Mangalore (Karnataka).These volunteers were accompanied by Dr..B.B. Javia, Programme Officer(NSS), College of Veterinary Science JAU, Junagadh These volunteers were participated in Yoga, meditation, Shramyagna under Swachha Bharat Mission, Cultural and Art activities.
  • JAU students participated in 8th Indian Student Parliament organized at MEE’S MIT WORLD PEACE UNIVERSITY, KOTHRUD, Pune  (Maharshtra) during 19th to 21st, March, 2018.
  • Thalassemia Camp :

     Junagadh Agricultural University is arranging Thalassemia screening test of all newly admitted students of Colleges and Polytechnics since last 9 years regularly.

    During this year also Thalassemia screening  test of  newly admitted students of all faculties  was arranged by JAU  in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad during  November 8th & 9th 2017. During this camp the blood samples of 699 newly admitted students were collected by the technicians of Indian Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad in all the Colleges and Polytechnics of  Junagadh, Amreli, Veraval, Porbandar (Khapat), Dhari and  Targhadiya.

  • Diagnosis Camp :

     An In vitro Fertilization camp was organized on February,7th, 2018 at University Health Centre. Dr. Nayana Patel, M.D. (Obst & gynecologist) IVF specialist, Anand provided her services in the camp. In this camp14 women were benefitted.

  • A seminar on "Role of Youth in Social and Economic Development" conducted on 26th March, 2017 at JAU, Juagadh by Sorath Yva Mandal, Khadiya ad Nehru Yuva Kendra, Junagadh in which 75 NSS volunteers participated. This programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Adhyashaktiben Majmudar, Mayor of Junagadh Municipal Corporation in the auspicious presence of Mr. Anarvala, IPS, Principal of Police Training Academy, Junagadh and Dr. P. V. Patel, Programme Co-ordinator, NSS, JAU, Junagadh. Dr.  P. V. Patel gave information about NSS activities of the university in his motivational speech.
  • As a part of the National Immunization Day celebration an activity for applying Pulse Polio drops carried out to apply these dose to 5 year old children at campus Health Centre in which 30 children were benefitted.
  • As a part of the SVEEP programme seminar was conducted in Polytechnic in Animal Husbandry to aware NSS volunteers for their participation as voters. In this programme Dr. V. V. Gamit an expert of electoral system and rules of voting was delivered his speech. Dr. P. H. Tank, Principal & Dean, College of Veterinary Science & A.H. and Dr. D. D. Garg, Principal of this polytechnic also attended this programme.

  • College of Agriculture, Junagadh :

     This college arranged the NSS special camp during the 17th to 23rd March, 2018 at Village Itali (Ta. Mendarda). In this Camp 100 NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated. This camp was inaugurated by Shri Manjibhai, Social activist and Sarpanch of this village. During the camp, volunteers carried out the activities viz; Cleaning under Swachha Bharat Mission, Socio-economic survey, interaction with students of primary school and village people regarding  Shramyagna at kids' school, Garden, Watering to Plants etc. Socio economic survey of farmers in Itali, farmers' problem and their solution by group of students, modern Agricultural practices, made charts of survey and presentation, cultural programmes, guidance to farmers about Tricoderma and its use in groundnut, knowledge about Green House, Net House, Home Science camp, survey of toil blocks exists, awareness for their proper use, etc.

  • College of Agril. Engg. & Tech., Junagadh :

    The NSS special camp was organized during the 10th to 16th February, 2018 at Village Dungarpur (Ta. Junagadh) and 88 (83boy+05 girl) NSS volunteer participated the same. The NSS volunteers carried out the activities viz; Cleaning, awareness to medicinal palnts, dug out pond, constructed a loose nala bund in side Laldori Udhyan, Soil collected through tractor, filling of sapling bag, collected plastics from wildlife sanctuary, Lecture by Retd. Scientist on medicinal plants,.About 520 people were benefitted through this camp.

  • College of Fisheries, Veraval :

     This college arranged the NSS special camp during 12th to 18th  March, 2018 at Village Dhava- Sasan, (Ta. Veraval, Dist. Gir Somnath) and 48 (35 boy+15  girl) NSS volunteer took part in this camp. During this camp, volunteers carried out activities viz; cleaning of village under Swachha Bharat Mission,  rally on Gender bias, drug addictions, awareness to save girls, visit to cold storage, nature education, environment and biodiversity conservation, etc. About 750 people were benefited by various social welfare activities.

  • College of Veterinary, Junagadh :

     The NSS special camp organized during 4th to 10th February, 2018 by this college at Village Khadiya (Ta. & Dist. Jungadh) and 50 (boy) NSS volunteer participated the same. This camp was Inaugurated by Mrs. Ramiben Bhadarka, President, Taluka Panchayat in presence of Dr. P. H. Tank, Principal & Dean of this college and Shri Altafbhai Quresi, President, Sorath Yuva Mandal, Khadiya. Volunteers carried out various activities viz; cleaning under Swachha Bharat Mission, Lecture on Art of Success, seed sowing at Nursery, Shramdan in village, Tracking in Girnar mountain, to know the various Ayurvedic plants, save environment it's measure and our duty for protecting it, profitable animal husbandry, Lecture on Cashless Transaction and Digital Banking, Sparrow conservation drive, De-worming in animals, Home Science camp and demonstrations. During this camp, about 780 people were benefited.

  • Polytechnic in Horticulture, Junagadh :

     This Polytechnic has adopted the Village Japodad (Ta. Vanthali & Dist. Junagadh) for arranging the NSS special camp during 17th to 23rd March, 2018. In this camp 76 NSS volunteer participated in it. Volunteers carried out various activities viz; farmers discussion meeting, Home Science camp, demonstration for fruits product preservation, environment awareness, village street sanitation under Swachha Bharat Mission, Writing of wall slogan on Beti bachao, Save environment and on Swachhata Abhiyan and on Social Issues, Cleaning of Japodad village, Agricultural information to farmers during field visit, etc. During the camp about 467 people were benefited.

  • Polytechnic in Agro Processing, Junagadh :

     This Polytechnic selected the Village Mota Kajaliyala (Ta. Vanthali) as an adopted village for arranging the NSS special camp during 5th to 11th March, 2018. In this camp 42 (23 boy+19 girl) NSS volunteer participated. Volunteers carried out various activities viz; Cleaning and lecture under Swachcha Bharat Mission, A rally on Save Girl, Swachhta and minimum use of plastics, Overall development for success in life, Shramyagna for cleaning public place, Yoga, Social awareness, Cultural programme on social issues vizi; Gender bias, Women literacy, Awareness on Cashless Transaction and Digital Banking, Poster presentation, Evils in education, A home science camp and demonstration etc. Though different activities, about 480 rural people were benefited.

  • Polytechnic in Agriculture, Dhari :

    This Polytechnic has adopted the Village Sukhpur (Ta. Dhari, Dist. Amreli) for arranging the NSS special camp during 24th February to 2nd March, 2018. In this camp, NSS volunteers participated and carried out the activities viz; cleaning of village under Swachha Bharat Mission, Tree plantation, elimination of superstition by Lok Vigyan Kendra, Amreli, Animal Health camp, Wall slogan writing, Home Science and canning camp, New concept in professional agriculture, health awareness and spraying of insecticides, lecture on addictions, cultural programme. During this camp about 530 rural people were benefited.

  • Polytechnic in Home Science, Amreli :

     The NSS special camp was organized during 5th-13th January, 2018 by this Polytechnic at Village Antaliya (Ta. Liliya & Dist. Amreli). In which, 22 girl volunteers enthusiastically participated. In this camp, activities viz; cleaning of temple premises and village streets under Swachha Bharat Mission, rally on environment awareness, Gender bias, wall slogans, Home Science camp, awareness to addictions, door to door campaign for Swachhta Abhiyan, cultural activities, etc. During the camp, about 580 people were benefited through different activities.

  • Polytechnic in Animal Husbandry :

    The NSS special camp was organized at Mota kajaliyala (Dist. Junagadh) during 5th to 11th March, 2018. In this camp, 31 NSS volunteer of this polytechnic participated. In this camp, activities viz;cleaning under Swachha Bharat Mission, Cultural programme on social issues genderbias, importance of education, Woman empowerment etc. Dr. P.H. Tank, Principal, College of veterinary, Dr. K. Ravikala, visited to the camp site and gave useful tips to the NSS volunteers about the significance of NSS Camp. Volunteers visited to the farmer’s field during this camp to aware farmers to use bio control agent, feeding to animal and vaccination. About 600 people were benefited.

  • Polytechnic in Agricultural Engineering, Targhadiya :

     The special camp was organised at Village Kotariya, Taluka Vankaner Dist. Morbi during 22nd Feb. to 28th February, 2018. In this camp 37 (28 boy &9 girl) NSS volunteer participated. During the camp Volunteers carried out various activities viz; Yoga and Exercise, visited of Primary School and principal of this polytechnic delivered his lecture against addictions, visit to farmers field to know their problems and cleaning activities near this place under Swachha Bharat Mission, NSS volunteers discussed with the farmers about drip and micro irrigation system. NSS volunteers took part shramyagna for cleaning village and than they visited ideal village Tankara a birth place of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati and attended spiritual talk. On NSS volunteers also visited to Gaushala of Zadeswar temple and perform cleanng activities. During the camp, about 320 rural people were benefited.

  • College of Horticulture, Junagadh :

     College of Horticulturethe JAU, Junagadh arranged the NSS special camp at Village Vadal ( Dist. Junagadh) during 22nd to 28th February, 2018. In this camp 50 (30 boy+20 girl) NSS volunteers participated in this special camp. They carried out various activities viz; cleaning of village under Swachha Bharat Mission, save environment, awareness to addictions socio-economic survey, painting competition on environment, youth leadership, programme on the celebration of Inter National Women Day, visit to farmers fields, girls education, Home Science camp, vegetables and fruits preservation, value addition, cereals-pulses storage, farmers meeting, etc. During the camp, about 575 rural people were benefited.

  • College of Agriculture, Amreli :

     This college arranged the NSS special camp at Village Sanosara (Ta. & Dist. Amreli)  during January, 16-22, 2018 in which 31NSS volunteers participated. They carried out various activities viz;Cleaning activities in the main street, S.T. Bus stand, Temple and Panchayat office, environment awareness, watering to 150 trees during this camp.

  • Activities Under Programme Co-ordinator (NSS) :
  • The Armed Forces Flag Day Celebration:

     The Armed Forces Flag Day observed on 7th December every year and it is a good opportunity to honor the valiant and martyrs soldiers and renew our solidarity with Armed Force personnel. The Collector and District Magistrate Junagadh had given the target to JAU, Junagadh to collect and donate Rs.50,000/- for the welfare fund. The NSS units collected the fund of Rs.1,05,987/- from all constituent Colleges, Polytechnics, Research Centers and Krushi Vigyan Kendra for the welfare of families of the martyrs and severely injured soldiers.

  • Thalassemia Camp :

     Junagadh Agricultural University is arranging Thalassemia screening test of all newly admitted students of Colleges and Polytechnics since last 9 years regularly.During this year also Thalassemia  screening  test of  newly admitted students of all faculties  was arranged by JAU  in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad during  November 8th & 9th 2017. During this camp the blood samples of 699  newly admitted students were collected by the technicians of Indian Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad in all the Colleges and Polytechnics of  Junagadh, Amreli, Veraval, Porbandar (Khapat), Dhari and  Targhadiya.
