On October 10, 2024, the Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, CAET, JAU, Junagadh, hosted a ceremony of the "First Start of the Tractor." The department recently purchased 4 nos. tractors of various HP range for the Testing & Training Center of Farm Machinery.

     The event was graced by the Dr. V. P. Chovatia, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Junagadh Agricultural University, who initiated the tractor's first startby the coconut breaking ritual. Dr. R. B. Madariya, Director of Research & Dean PG Studies, Dr. H. D. Rank, Principal & Dean, CAET,  Dr. T. D. Mehta, Prof. & Head (FMPE Dept.), Dr. M. N. Dabhi, Prof. & Head (PFE Dept.), Dr. M. S. Dulawat, Prof.& Head (REE Dept.) and all the departmental staff as well as PG students have also joined the ceremony.

     The dignitaries have also visited the laboratories under the center.
